Jammu and Kashmir Governor N.N. Vohra has laid stress on coordinated efforts of the entire security grid to stop attacks in the state, especially in the border areas of the Jammu region.
Reports said J&K Police and paramilitary forces will be provided with hi-tech and sophisticated wireless systems, especially in the Kathua and Samba districts of Jammu.
Chairing the meeting, the Governor said that all the “grey areas” identified during the audit report, ordered by him by the multi-security agencies in the backdrop of the Pathankot airbase attack, should be addressed immediately. He has directed state Chief Secretary B.R.
Sharma to show prompt response to all security issues, while passing on spot orders on different matters regarding security measures to be taken in the border areas.
Reports said that apart from CCTV surveillance of border police posts and some border police stations, surveillance on the border fence on modern lines was discussed and approved during the high-level meeting which was attended by Sharma, state DGP K. Rajendra Kumar, Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. D.S. Hooda and senior intelligence officials.
