Justin who? Canadians may be prouder of Jordy

opinionJustin who? Canadians may be prouder of Jordy

Apart from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada has another famous export who may be a more important source of national pride. Jordan Peterson (Jordy) is a clinical psychologist who treated 20 people per week for about 20 years. He is also a Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto. He wrote what may be at this moment the best-selling book on the planet.

JORDY HAS 200,000 FACEBOOOK LIKES

Perhaps you remember news of the Tiananmen Square massacre in China in 1989. There was a picture of a lone man with a briefcase standing up to a huge war tank.

In September 2016, the Canadian government proposed Bill C-16 to legally force Canadians to refer to transsexuals by the pronouns zie/hir, ey/em/eir and so on (instead of pronouns like him, her, he, she, etc). Jordy publicly refused to use what he called “compelled speech”. He said if he was charged and fined he wouldn’t pay, and if he was sent to jail for non-payment he would go on a hunger strike. In normally mild-mannered Canada, this was like the Chinese man standing up to the massive powers of the state.

JORDY HAS A HALF-MILLION TWITTER FOLLOWERS

In November 2017, a Teacher’s Assistant called Lindsay Shepherd screened a video clip of Jordy for her Communications class to show how the politics of grammar could sometimes be controversial. Simply for showing a clip of Jordy she was dragged before a university tribunal and accused of breaking the law by exposing the students to the equivalent of “Nazi propaganda” and creating a “toxic environment” that constituted “violence” against transgendered students.

Unfortunately for the university, she secretly recorded their attack on her (which can be found easily enough by Googling some key words above). Because of her foresight not only were they ridiculed into dropping their complaint but also the university president subsequently apologized to Ms Shepherd.

JORDY HAS A MILLION SUBSCRIBERS ON HIS YOUTUBE CHANNEL, HIS FULL-LENGTH VIDEOS HAVE BEEN VIEWED ABOUT 15 MILLION TIMES, AND VARIOUS CLIPS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN WELL OVER 100 MILLION VIDEOS

Jordy says all the fast-moving attention is like surfing a 100-ft wave and he fully expects it will crash down on him at any moment.

In January 2018, he was interviewed by Cathy Newman for the UK news program Channel 4. The topic was the so-called pay gap between men and women. She claimed it was a clear case of bias against women and he showed she was completely wrong. Newman tried and failed numerous times to pin him to the wall and the video shows his brilliant defence.

Many people think this was a tipping point in the culture wars, with Jordy finally showing political correctness as a sham. (This video is the best introduction to Jordy. Google: Newman Peterson Channel 4)

JORDY’S BOOK IS CURRENTLY AMAZON’S BEST-SELLING BOOK

It’s called 12 Rules for Life: an Antidote to Chaos. Like his other work, he’s mainly espousing common sense approaches to life’s problems—and fighting against social justice warriors. Buy it and learn for yourself.

He says when being the most oppressed victim gives you the highest status then it’s a race to the bottom. This is especially bad for adolescents because they’re trying to sort their identity out and are already a mess. More than anything else he’s trying to help turn boys into decent men.

There’s a website called Patreon.com where people agree to make monthly donations to causes or people they believe in. They get basically nothing in return, and give anywhere from $5-$200 per month. About one and a half years ago, Jordy wanted to teach less and travel more giving speeches and other public presentations. He started a Patreon account to get the financial freedom to make public the issues in which he believes so passionately. At this stage about 8,000 people per month are giving him money.

JORDY IS NOW GETTING ABOUT $1 MILLION/MONTH FROM PATREON DONORS

In January 2018, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was at a Town Hall meeting when a woman said something was important for the future of “mankind”. Trudeau interrupted her and said she should be using the word “peoplekind” instead of “mankind” (that brief video is worth seeing also).

Jordy thought that was asinine and then laid into Trudeau in depth. He pointed out that after being elected in 2015 Trudeau said he was going to appoint females to 50% of his cabinet positions. Jordy said Trudeau didn’t have the CV or record of success necessary to run a government, and to disguise his own failings he appointed 50% females in a shallow attempt to broadcast tolerance at the expense of competence. Jordy calls this an abdication of responsibility never before seen in Canadian political history.

Jordy says Trudeau got to become Prime Minister largely because his father Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister. But as India has also learned with difficulty, democracies are not dynasties. The genetic shuffling created in procreation doesn’t ensure that heirs to the throne will be qualified for the job they inherit.

The smart money is on Jordy outlasting Justin in the measure of history.
