For the first time an Indonesian designer Anniesa Hasibuan created history with her runway show at New York Fashion Week. The Muslim designer Hasibuan decided to have every one of her models wear a hijab on the ramp and this is the first time that every model has worn headscarves at NYFW. Her designs are inspired by her hometown of Jakarta, Indonesia, featured printed scarves, trousers, gownsand tunics with beautiful embroidery.

A designer from Guatemala Isabella Springmuhl has created her own line of fashion for people with Down syndrome. She dedicated her designs to the people who suffer from this disease. 19-year-old, Springmuhl created her lively designs using Mayan textiles, and her alluring clothing has been seen across the world in London. She is the first designer with Down syndrome to ever feature her clothing line at London Fashion Week.

Milan Fashion Week showcased some big name from 70’s to today. Lauren Hutton walked the runway with Gigi Hadid arm-in-arm and created the biggest head-turning moment at the 50thanniversary show of Bottega Veneta. Lauren Hutton flaunts the original Bottega woven clutch bag, which she wore in American Gigolo. This show also has several other surprises like Karen Elson and Eva Herzigova from ’70s to attract the next generation on fashion.

Italian fashion designer Maria Grazia Chiuri took her inspiration from the Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, writer and feminist icon for her new spring 2017 ready to wear Dior collection. Creative director of Dior brought unabashed feminism to the runway. Models flaunt feminism while walking the runway by wearing a white cotton shirt with the slogan “We Should All Be Feminists”, a quote from Nigerian author.
