Ritu Kumar who is a big name in the fashion industry says, 2017’s biggest trends will be a continued revival of handicrafts and textiles within the Indian subcontinent, a modern play on traditional silhouettes, bright and tropical prints, and sheer fabrics. Kumar leads the fashion industry with her traditional yet modern designs. Colours like bright yellow and red will gain attention but pale blue, beige will also have their moment.
According to the designer it is easy to wear separates which have become a trend. They can be paired with different silhouettes like dhoti pants, lungi skirts, tunics, kurtas and asymmetrical hemlines for a fresh and youthful simplicity. It’s subtle and chic and you can mix and match, and not just once. So she feels that the “Easy to wear” and “comfort” will be fashion buzzwords in 2017.

The designer duo says that Ruffles and frills — the wearable volume — is the key trend that will define the summer of 2017. Their SS’17 collection “Romance Reinvented” features long slits and ruffle detailing in summer fabrics like poplin, crisp cotton and organza. Bigger or smaller ruffles placed at shoulders, hem of the skirts, blouse yokes or sleeves in feminine silhouettes make the volume wearable fresh for the 2017 Summer.
