The Sunday Guardian stands by its interview of Vijay Mallya

By OUR CORRESPONDENT | | 15 March, 2016

The Sunday Guardian stands by its interview of Mr Vijay Mallya. This was given to the newspaper on 12 March 2016. Mr Mallya personally responded to our email questionnaire from his encrypted email id: vjmallya@protonmail.com. This id was confirmed to us by his legal counsel's office on 8 March. To a questionnaire sent to Mr Mallya on 10 March, he replied via email on 12 March. For reasons that are not clear, Mr Mallya has sought to distance himself from the interview. We, however, stand by our report. The email trail is attached.

Scam by media ? What scam ? The real scamster is Vijay Mallya who siphoned of employees taxes and PFs and cheated government.

Can you also post communication from legal counsel that the mail ID is Vijay Mallya's?

How come both Vijay Mallya and Gurdian correspondent used protonmail, a specialized email service, for this correspondence? Enquiry should be made whether this is the authentic email ID of Vijay Mallya.

There is a huge demand for dual SIM phones in the Indian market. Films are reviewed as theatre rather than as a unique art form. You can get all the information about latest Parties, Events, Concerts, Fashion Shows and Nightlife in Delhi. vjmallya@protonmail.com does not exist. These guys shamelessly made up an interview. Did not even bother to check if the mail ID they claimed to be Vijay Mallya's exists. Pathetic journalism, absolutely no ethics.

It doesn't matter really. The banks gave out money to Kingfisher. Kingfisher went bankrupt. Actually even UB Group lent a lot of money to Kingfisher. The filings with the Exchange show that they loaned a lot of money. This was adjusted against value when Vijay Mallya sold his stake. This guy lost everything he owned. All his companies, his respect in society, probably even Tipu's sword... Our Government did not even bid at that auction. He deserves his peace and quiet. Even if this is his email, what it asks for is something simple - peace and quiet. In India he would be hounded. Abroad, he is a nobody. Better he live his days out in peace abroad. @tsananth
