Rights group will celebrate girl child’s day

India Eye International Human Rights Observer (IHRO), under the leadership of Rakesh Sharma, Managing Director of India Eye IHRO, is organising a national level event today, 16 October in New Delhi to celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child in Delhi, under the theme “Betiyaan”. The event is being organised in collaboration with the UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan, while UNICEF has partnered for this programme.

The event “Betiyaan” will be attended by leading women pioneers from across the country to deliberate and discuss numerous issues and problems faced by the girl child. Najma Hepatullah, Governor of Manipur, will be the chief guest for the event, while Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj will be the guest of honour. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mahesh Sharma will be the special guest for the event being organised at the India Islamic Centre. The event is also slated to honour Parampujiya Anandmurti Gurumaa with a lifetime achievement award for her outstanding contribution in the field.
