At the Paris Games Week, held on 30 October in Paris, Sony announced a raft of new games and updates. The list includes 21 fresh sequels of existing PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR titles, seven brand-new games and 11 big update patches.
At the Paris Games Week, held on 30 October in Paris, Sony announced a raft of new games and updates. The list includes 21 fresh sequels of existing PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR titles, seven brand-new games and 11 big update patches. Among the sequel releases are The Sims 4, Guacamelee 2, LocoRoco 2 Remastered, Tennis World Tour, Resident Evil 7: Not a Hero, Spelunky and many more. Games making their world debut next year include The Hong Kong Massacre, The Gardens Between, Megalith, Spider-Man, and Bow to Blood among others. Here are six of the biggest upcoming PS4 titles that are sure to steal the limelight in months to come.

THE LAST OF US PART 2

The Last of Us Part 2 is an action-adventure survival horror game for PS4 which is developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game is still very much about Ellie and Joel but in these edition players will be able to control Ellie instead of Joel. This edition also introduces new characters into the story. The game promises to take players on an intense, beautiful, harrowing and emotional ride. The Last of Us 2 is coming to the PlayStation 4, and its release date is yet to be revealed.

GOD OF WAR

God of War is a new beginning for the protagonist Kratos. He is living as a man outside the shadow of the gods. He ventures into the brutal Norse wilds with his son Atreus on his big quest. There’s intense combat, a powerful narrative and breathtaking graphics. From the marble and columns of complex Olympus to the rough forests, mountains, and caves of Pre-Viking Norse tradition, this is a particularly new territory with its own pantheon of creatures, monsters and gods. A new weapon and abilities hang on to the defining spirit of God of War while presenting an image of brutal conflict that forges new ground in the genre. God of War is developed by Santa Monica Studio and is published by SIEA. The game will be released in 2018.

SPIDER-MAN

Marvel’s Spider-Man is making its world debut for the PS4. It is an action-adventure game developed by Insomniac and published by SIEA. Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have come together to create a brand-new and reliable Spider-Man adventure. Marvel’s Spider Man has acrobatic abilities, inventiveness and web-slinging talent that the crawler is famous for, while also introducing elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game. This is an experienced Peter Parker, who is much more adept at fighting big crime in New York City. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rests upon his shoulders. The game is filled with action set-pieces, a rich narrative and relatable characters. Spider-Man is expected to release in 2018.

CALL OF DUTY: WWII

Call of Duty: WWII is a first-person shooter game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision. The game creates the definitive World War II next-generation experience across three different game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Co-Operative. Campaign transports players to the European theater. Multiplayer marks a return to original, boots-on-the ground Call of Duty gameplay. Authentic weapons and traditional run-and-gun action immerse you in a vast array of World War II-themed locations. War is an all-new game mode where players work as a team to defeat the enemy. This narrative-driven Multiplayer experience immerses players in iconic World War II locations. The players are allied and axis forces clash in team-driven assaults and defend missions for key strategic objectives. The game has already been released.

DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN

Detroit: Become Human is an adventure game developed by Quantic Dream and published by SIEA. The game is set in the near-future metropolis of Detroit—a city rejuvenated by an exciting technological development: androids. Players can witness a brave new world that turns to chaos as they take on the role of Kara, a female android trying to find her own place in a turbulent social landscape. You go through an ambitious branching narrative, making choices that will not only determine your character’s fate, but that of the entire city. Discover what it means to be human from the perspective of an outsider—see the world of man though the eyes of a machine. The game will be releasing in 2018.

STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT II

Star Wars Battlefront II is an action shooter game based on the Star Wars film franchise. The game is developed by EA DICE. You can play as any of the heroes from all three eras of Star Wars in gigantic battles across iconic locations, and take part in a breathtaking single-player story as Iden Versio fights to avenge the Emperor. Players can rush through waves of enemies on Starkiller Base with the power of a lightsaber and storm through the jungle canopy of a hidden Rebel base on Yavin 4 with your fellow troopers, dispensing firepower from AT-STs. The game is set to launch on 17 November 2017.
