Do your bit for the environment

TechDo your bit for the environment

Did you know that recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a TV for three hours? In fact, each bit of paper and packaging material that finds its way to the trash, if recycled, could save energy to fuel many more such TVs. To help you do your bit for the environment, recycling venture POM POM offers its services at your doorstep. POM POM is a web-based recycling platform that helps you to dispose recyclable waste in a responsible manner, while paying you the “best possible price” for the same.
Founded by Deepak Sethi & Kishor K. Thakur, the masterminds behind the “Delhi Waste Management” project, POM POM has started its operations in South Delhi and will be “addressing the disposal needs of more than 1,000,000 individuals producing large quantities of recyclable waste every day,” a press statement read. To recycle your trash all you have to do is drop a call or message, or put in a request via the POM POM mobile app, which is available on Google PlayStore and iOS. After collecting the recyclables, the company further adds value by segregating these and supplies them to industries that recycle them to manufacture new products.
In the words of Deepak Sethi, Co-Founder & CEO, POM POM Recycling Pvt Ltd., “All the plastic shopping bags, glass and plastic bottles that we discard are 100% recyclable. Yet this material is not recycled and ends up choking a landfill that eventually leads to contamination of soil and water bodies. We believe that if we incentivize people to recycle, then this problem could be solved to a great extent. We not only intend to ease out the process for our valuable customers but also make them feel that they are contributing towards their society and towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by taking this one simple step with us.” According to Kishor K. Thakur, Co-Founder & Director, “We aim to consolidate our position in the waste recycling space and therefore will only look at expanding to newer zones and cities once our service both at the customer end and at the collection site become seamless.”.
