Photos & Text: Sightsavers & Beyond Sight Foundation
Earlier this month, Sightsavers, a development organisation that works to prevent avoidable blindness, restore sight and advocate for social inclusion and equal rights for people with disabilities, organised a photography exhibition at Delhi’s British Council, to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The images showcased at this exhibition were taken by visually-impaired photographers from different parts of the country, who were part of a campaign initiated by Sightsavers, called “The Blind View”. Under this campaign, a photography workshop was put together for visually-impaired participants.
Finally showcased at the exhibition was a selection of some 30 photographs depicting various themes — a few of which are featured here — each picture portraying a unique story in itself, and representing a different aspect of how it feels to live life without being able to see the world.
