We millennials sure have a lot on our hands to handle and that makes our lives anything but stress free. However, we do also know how to handle it right. One of the best ways to de-stress yourself every once in a while is to treat yourself to a good massage and spa treatment. And with this thought, I recently ventured the Shanaya the luxury spa at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel in East Delhi for a rejuvenating therapy.

The hotel property is lavish and green with beautiful outdoors. As soon as you enter its threshold, you can feel a different world all together. As I reached my destination, I was welcomed with a cordial staff and offered green tea as they prepared for the session. I opted for the de–stress muscle release massage therapy, on their suggestion,  as sitting in my office in front of a computer for nine hours really takes its toll, making my neck and shoulders really stiff.

They have a highly skilled staff as my masseuse Anju, surely knew her way with her hands. During the therapy, slow deep pressure and skilful hand movements target stressed muscles, unlock tension and relieve pain.

This specialised technique uses direct pressure to release chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. This massage included the use of thumbs, elbows, knuckles and forearms to remove the lactic acid that causes stiffness and pain. An exceptional fusion Ayurveda treatment for both mental and physical well—being and relaxation. The duration for the therapy is 120 minutes however, you can also opt for a 90 minutes session.

The massage rooms have the right ambience with comfortable beds, slow music and subtly aromatic air. They have a huge couples spa room and a separate lounge area, where you can sit back and relax with a cup of green tea after your therapy.

Shanaya definitely is a place full of peace and calmness that promotes living a stress-free, healthy life through each of its therapies. It has an extensive list of rejuvenating Asian and European massages such as Swedish, Balinese, Thai, Deep Tissue and more to offer.

Apart from that it also added to its popular list of therapies a new and exclusive range of Thalgo Facials, Reflexology and Hot Stone therapy.  Price ranges between Rs. 2500 – Rs. 7000.  I followed up the spa treatment with a coffee and sandwhich at Café Knosh, their excellent all-day dining restaurant.
