The Jamaat Ul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), the banned terrorist group which is setting up base in West Bengal, especially in the districts of Nadia, Burdwan, Murshidabad and Birbhum, is planning to target RSS and BJP functionaries by exhorting Indian Muslims to take up arms against these “kafirs”. According to a document of the terror organisation accessed by this newspaper, JMB is trying to radicalise Muslim youths in these districts by falsely propagating that the Sangh Parivar is conspiring to “remove Muslims from India”. JMB has close contacts with Pakistan and is believed to be getting its funding from that country and countries in the Gulf.
The terror outfit’s internal nine-page document in Bengali, titled “What do you think as a Muslim”, which is being used to indoctrinate the youths, gives a spin to the history of the RSS as an anti-Muslim organisation. The document includes the images of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the document, which is identical to tracts sponsored by the ISI, RSS and its affiliates such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Dharma Jagran Manch are running the country by keeping the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their front. “There is an undeclared emergency in the country. Muslims are being killed in the name of beef and liberals and free thinkers are being attacked. Muslims are being targeted in the country,” reads the document.
It further goes on to accuse the BJP of polarising the country with the intention of weeding out Muslims, for which it sensationally claims that institutions are being saffronised. The document claims that the Bhagvad Gita will soon be declared as India’s national book. “It is a very dangerous time for all Muslims of the world. The final settlement will have to be done through war and arms. Muslims will have to come together and fight the war that will turn the rivers red. Wake up and don’t take things lying down and prepare yourself for jihad,” reads the document, which is dotted with pictures of RSS and BJP leaders, the flag of ISIS and gun-toting terrorists.
With the objective to instigate Muslims, the document cites the demolition of Babri Masjid, the blast in Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad, the Samjhauta Express blast, the Gujarat riots, and the Malegaon and Ajmer Sharif blasts as the handiwork of the RSS.
In a bid to incite Muslims against the government, the document then indulges in the propaganda that PM Modi is encouraging extremist acts against the community by staying silent. The document describes Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as “communal” and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath as “illiterate, incapable and a polarising figure”.
The ISI-linked document claims that after coming to power, the BJP has saffronised all institutions and is trying to change history by appointing people from the RSS and gives the example of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chief to make its point. “Ghar wapsi, cow vigilantism, killing of Akhlaq, M.M. Kalburgi, Narendra Dabholkar are examples of how thinkers and Muslims are being attacked under the rule of Modi”, it reads.
The document claims that the RSS is devising plans to remove Muslims from the country and hence is trying to create a situation where the community will be considered as “second grade citizens” or “slaves”. “The army and the government institutions are working towards this goal of RSS BJP”, it says.
The document further reads that Muslims of India cannot take this lying down, they need to wake up and frame strategies to counter the RSS and BJP. “There is a conspiracy going on against Muslims, because of which Muslims have remained backward in the field of education, economy and employment and no development of Muslims has taken place. The kafirs are fulfilling their aim of keeping Muslims backward and soon Muslims will fade into oblivion. The only recourse is armed struggle and fighting a bloody battle”, it says.
As per the document, Muslims should turn the pages of history to find about the weaknesses that led to the downfall of ummahs in the past and learn lessons from those episodes and work accordingly.
“Not giving due importance to Islamic education and jihad were the most fundamental reasons for Islam’s downfall. In India and across the world, the kafirs are making all out efforts to destroy Islam. They are using culture, internet, journals, TV, social media etc to destroy Muslim conscience and divert them from their obligation towards Allah. Our primary concern should be Aakhirat (the doomsday). We spend too much labour, time and money on materialistic things. Until and unless we give importance to Aakhirat as mandated by Islam, Allah will not end our humiliation and exploitation”, it reads.
“To understand the conspiracy being done by kafirs through their economic, political structure we have to develop our own plans. These people are cow worshippers and idol worshippers. If you want to live in India every community will have to imbibe Hinduism and Muslims will have to relinquish their identity. If we remain quiet, we will face the same situation as it happened in Spain where the Muslim population became extinct”, it says.
The JMB’s proximity with the Pakistani establishment was revealed when in two separate incidents in Dhaka, in 2015, Pakistan visa attaché Mazhar Khan was caught red-handed during a meeting with a JMB operative. Khan was discussing ways to push large consignments of fake Indian currency into West Bengal and Assam. Later, in December that year, another Pakistani embassy staffer, Farina Arshad was expelled from Bangladesh after a JMB operative admitted to having received money from her. The JMB receives heavy funding from donors based in Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and UAE.
The JMB, founded in April 1998 in Dhaka by Abdur Rahman, detonated around 500 bombs at 300 locations throughout Bangladesh in August 2005, after which many of its top cadre were arrested and executed by the Bangladesh government. However, the group has now reorganised and is well entrenched in northern Bangladesh and in at least four districts of West Bengal. Its main aim is to establish Sharia law in Bangladesh.
“It quickly established its presence in West Bengal due to the porous border the state shares with Bangladesh. The fact that the document is printed in Bengali is a clear indication that they are targeting the local Muslim youths and trying to include them in terror activities,” an official with the security establishment said.
