The Tourism Department in Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up to ensure a successful spring season and has launched many tourism related campaigns to increase the tourist footfall.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti took the matter of overcharging of airfares to Kashmir during the peak season of summer with the Central government after many travel agents briefed complained to her and her brother Tassaduq Mufti, tourism minister, regarding this.

There will be a snow-festival from 17 February at Pahalgam and the state Tourism Department has other such festivals also in the pipeline. In March, after a gap of three decades, Kashmir is going to host hundreds of tourism players from across the states. 

The state government in collaboration with Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) will host this mega from 25 to 29 March.
